JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is a fighting and dating video game developed and published by Capcom based on the manga JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The game was made by the same team that had previously worked on an iconic fighting game-style title such as Street Fighter, to be precise on Street Fighter III.
It was originally released as an arcade video game in 1998 on an arcade system. CPS-3. This version was known outside Japan under the title JoJo's Venture. An updated version of the game was released in 1999 under the title JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future, and became the sixth and last video game to be developed for CPS-3 systems. In the same year, conversions of the game were released for PlayStation and Dreamcast consoles.
A high definition version of the video game with an online mode was made available through PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in August 2012, but was subsequently removed as of September 2014. The original author of the comic, Hirohiko Araki oversaw the making of the game and made some exclusive designs for the game's packaging and promotion. He also made a new design for the Midler character, as Capcom intended to use it in the game, while the character in the manga was barely shown.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure cosplay are certainly very particular and characteristic as are the characters that populate the video game.

The inspiration for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Hirohiko Araki admits that the idea for his name came from Jonathan's restaurant (a local in his neighborhood), where he and his publisher often held midnight meetings. The two decided that the protagonist's name would be Jonathan, and Araki, using Steven Spielberg's name as a reference, decided that the surname should follow the same format, and so Joestar was decided. Araki states that it was risky to use this type of name, as using a foreign name for a main protagonist was considered taboo at the time. Araki also admits that stories like East of Eden and the TV series Roots inspired him to use a periodic style where the main character changes, but the story continues; although at the time this wasn't much of a Jump-style format for manga.
